What to Expect

Before Your Treatment

Your skin will be assessed before treatment so the SkinPen® settings and treatment approach can be selected according to your skin condition and concerns.

A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure for approximately 30 minutes to make the treatment more comfortable.

During Your Treatment

SkinPen® is passed systematically across the treatment area using an individually selected treatment depth.

If you have chosen PDRN, a skin booster or Exosomes, the selected enhancement is incorporated into your treatment protocol.

Immediately After

Your skin will usually appear red and may feel warm or slightly sensitive — similar to a mild sunburn. This is a normal response following microneedling.

Redness generally settles progressively, although recovery varies depending on skin sensitivity and treatment intensity.

When Will I See Results?

Some clients notice fresher, smoother-looking skin as the initial recovery period passes, while collagen remodelling develops gradually beneath the surface.

How Many SkinPen® Treatments Do I Need?

There is no single protocol for every skin.

For general skin rejuvenation, a course of treatments may be recommended depending on your starting skin condition and goals.

More persistent concerns, particularly acne scarring or significant textural irregularities, may require a series of sessions for more noticeable improvement.

Your recommended treatment plan and interval will be discussed after assessing your skin.

Downtime & Aftercare

SkinPen® involves relatively little downtime, but your skin needs time to recover after treatment.

For the first few days, you may experience redness, sensitivity, dryness or mild flaking.

We recommend following your personalised aftercare instructions carefully, avoiding unnecessary irritation and protecting the treated skin from excessive sun exposure while it recovers.

A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment. You may still feel pressure, vibration or mild discomfort in more sensitive areas, but the procedure is generally well tolerated.
